Paintless Dent Removal, What is that?
Everyone raves about texture when it comes to the culinary arts, interior design, hair styles, and fashion. Inconsistencies or even slight imperfections can add to the authenticity of the appearance of walls, furniture, jeans, real mashed potatoes, and casual hair up-do’s. But detect texture in your automobile finish and suddenly variation is completely unappreciated! This is one area in life where uniformity and perfection is demanded!
If your car’s sheen is suddenly interrupted by unwelcome dents and dings, it’s time to smooth out those problem areas. Luckily it’s become easier with the invention of Paintless Dent Removal (PDR).
PDR is a method of removing minor dents and dings without removing any paint from the vehicle. It’s accomplished by gently massaging the dent away from the back of the panel. Occasionally it is also achieved from the front, but this requires specialized tools.
- Gentle! No grinding, bondo, fillers, drilling, or primers
- Original factory paint is not disturbed
- No extra precaution required for months after the repair
- Turnaround time – can be less than an hour for simple dents!
- Cost savings – the difference can be hundreds or even thousands!
- 100% GONE for good – repairs guaranteed for life
Not all dents are satisfactory candidates for this method of dent removal. Depth and location are two primary determining factors. Most common sized dents fixed with PDR are golf ball sized or smaller. However, even dents the size of a frisbee or larger can be fixed, providing they are not too deep or twisted. On some occasions, dents as small as a dime may prove challenging if they are too deep or the metal became overly stretched. Cracked paint indicates a dent too deep for repair via PDR and common problem areas are quarter panel opening lips, forward areas of heavily braced hoods, or the very edges of some panels. On average, 95% of minor dents can be repaired by PDR.
Some PDR technicians drill holes in the car to gain access to the dent with their tools. Many times customers aren’t even aware. Aureus Auto Body always aims to repair dents without drilling. In the event that it is necessary, or it would be less expensive to do so, we always notify and advise the customer so they can ultimately choose their repair solution. Any holes we must drill are always rust-proof and plugged.
Aureus Auto Body can remove your dents for considerably less than your leasing company will charge you for “excessive wear and tear” on your vehicle’s exterior. If your lease is coming due, give us a call for a free estimate to compare.
People do make judgements based on outside appearances. A good-looking exterior implies an overall well-maintained vehicle. What you’ll spend on PDR will increase the car’s resale value and reduce the time it spends on the market. This is a great way to get more interested buyers faster and ultimately, top dollar for your vehicle!
Multiple Dent Discount
More than one minor dent on the same panel can be included for a minimal extra charge, depending on the size and number of dents. If your vehicle has a substantial amount of minor dents such ashail damage, we offer per-car prices that are quite affordable.
